What is La Zagaleta?
La Zagaleta is a privileged location that was founded in 1991. It occupies an extensive area of more than 900 hectares and is set in the middle of the Mediterranean forest. From here you can enjoy incredible views towards Gibraltar and the coast of Africa.
Formerly a huge private hunting ground belonging to Adnan Khashoggi, the land was auctioned off in 1989 and it was then that a holding company of investors from Spain, North America, Switzerland and Germany decided to make the investment.
Today it is a residential model where you can find unique amenities such as a sports club, 2 golf courses, private lake, equestrian centre and heliport.
It is considered a true paradise on earth, to the point that exorbitant sums of money are paid to live there. For example, it is known that some properties have been sold for as much as 25 million euros, and some can be more than 10,000 square metres in size.
As a point of interest, the membership fee for the golf and equestrian clubs is around 90,000 euros plus 10,000 euros per year. This price is justified due to the large number of services offered there.
What is the profile of residents of La Zagaleta?
The majority of La Zagaleta’s residents are very successful people, such as senior company executives, who are looking for a place where their privacy is respected to the maximum.
According to the statistics, around 30% of the residents are German, another 30% from the UK and another 30% from different Northern European countries. The remaining 10% include Arabs, spanish and people of different nationalities.

Interestingly, the economic crisis has not affected this place. In fact, the plots have increased in value by around 300% in the last 5 years. Currently villas in La Zagaleta can be found for between 10.5 and 14.5 million euros.

There are also rumours that place Brad Pitt, Shakira, Lady Gaga or Beckham there, and there are even some celebrities who have not been admitted to the area, as is the case of Julio Iglesias.
